OUR START.
We started out going to the inner city of Columbia, SC then to the shelters to help the homeless. In the beginning, our mission was simply to show them that we care. It grew to job services that helped the homeless find work.
Prolonged unemployment leads to personal crisis, family issues, housing loss, and much more. A person does not become homeless overnight. It's a process that starts from a downward spiral of events and it doesn’t just affect the person. It causes broken families and is detrimental to communities because it hurts the economy.
Stable and sufficient income is necessary to regain self-reliance. In some cases, there are other services that are needed before a person is ready to regain employment. Counseling, financial literacy, and other services may be necessary to help a person restore their financial livelihood and personal well-being so that homelessness is no longer a threat. In many cases, once a person becomes homeless it is extremely hard to get back to healthy living. |
Our Plan
Our plan is to provide a program that encompasses five components: ministry, counseling, life skills, education, and workforce readiness with a job being the culmination of the program. Referrals and support will be provided for additional services such as housing and medical treatment.
We are equipping and empowering people with the tools to be successful and strengthening communities through employment. |
